Fascia & Soffits

Fascias

A and J Home Improvements are experts at fitting and upgrading the Fascia at your property.

The fascia is mounted at the point where the roof meets the outer walls of the house and is often called the roofline.

The fascia is fixed directly to the roof trusses and usually does all the work of supporting the bottom row of tiles and carrying all the guttering.

New UPVC Materials offer many advantages.

Soffits

The soffit board is tucked away under the fascia board. It is usually the board that you see most of from street level.

The soffit can be ventilated to allow the flow of air into the roof area.

Alternatively, ventilation can be provided over the top of the fascia board.

Many people prefer the latter solution these days. Without adequate ventilation, condensation will form in the roof void increasing the risk of timber decay.

Installation Process

First of all we remove the gutters and slide back the first row of roof tiles.

We then completely remove the fascias and soffits and trim back any damaged felt.

We check the condition of the rafter feet and repair as necessary. Once we are happy we fix the soffit board tight against the brickwork, this provides a clean finish and sturdy edge where the soffit meets the brickwork.

After the soffits are fixed we can now put the fascia board on.

We finish off with a complete clean to complement our first class installation
